Located at the Iskandar Malaysia Studios in Johor Bahru, encompassing 6 acres of land at the backlot, are sets created to mimic the bustling city life of Chinatown in the fifties. The buildings are designed to resemble a townhall, mansions and traditional shophouses and exhibit unique architectural features such as stairways and decorative elements on the facades and window copings of shophouses. The main street comes with a tram mock-up that runs around these buildings.
Adjacent to the film set is the production office with storage and wardrobe facilities which offer a unique assortment of costumes and props ranging from historic through the present day. Our craftsmen are renowned in particular, for detailed historical furniture and décor.
These assets allow the production team to have an expansive option to recapture an authentic atmosphere of life in the past.
