As the digital post-production arm of G.H.Y Culture & Media, the Visual Effects team focuses on creative cinematic visuals for effects and animation. The team consists of professionals from within and across regions, bringing a range of services such as 2D and 3D computer graphics, animation, visual effects, compositing, look development and training.
The team aims to provide a customised creative experience for its clients, from the drawing boards to technological solutions in post-production.
Zi Hao provides the overall art and design directions for the projects at GHY. He has over 10 years of experience crafting VFX content for commercials for renowned brands such as Netflix, Audi, P&G, Unilever, Volkswagen, Buick, Lenovo and Nestle. His innovative methods plus his gift in story telling lead him to get a nominee for the Apollo Awards in the 3D Animation Category. During his stint at VHQ China he took on lead, supervisory and director roles in the area of visual effects, animation and motion graphics providing guidance and supervision for over 40 artist.
Chee Loong oversees the operations of the studio. His experience are both in the area of education and visual effects production with over 13 years teaching at Nanyang Polytechnic。During his time as a lecturer and course manager, he also took on the role as VFX Supervisor/ Producer on Mediacorp Productions such as The Journey A Voyage, The Journey Tumultuous Times, The Journey Our Homeland, Blessings 2, When Duty Calls, Sealed with a Kiss, Unriddled, and Large Screens production for National Day Parade shows.
Experienced CG Supervisor/ Generalist with 14 years of working experience in TV Commercial, TV Series and Feature Film. Working knowledge of many different aspects of computer graphics, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, and animations. Created high quality graphics for a number of high profile TV commercials with clients such as RSAF, SBO, iChangi App, Kia Motor, Yamaha, Garuda Airlines, Dasani, Mentos, ESPN, Anna Sui, and more. Feature film credits as a CG Artist, where take part in an Indonesia movie “Darah” and most recently be involved in a local movie “Bring Back The Dead”. Despite, get involved in a local TV Series “Serangoon Road” which directed by Peter Andrikidis and Tony Tilse.
Wilson is the Compositing Supervisor/Lead that does, assist and train the junior artists in G.H.Y. He has a Master’s Degree in Digital Effects from Bournemouth University, and accumulative of 6 years experience compositing various commercials, shortfilm, and TV Series. He have also worked on a wide repertoire of projects, with international renowned brands like Singtel, Macdonald, Airtel, Clear, RSAF and Singapore Government Ministry-related advertisements. In addition with the passion to teach and inspire others, he wants to help nuture many artist into the craft, to make Singapore a known Digital Hub in Post-Production, and to inspire Compositing artists locally.
Zino is our Key Specialist for Houdini. He has helped built GHY’s VFX pipeline using Houdini’s non-breakable workflow. He played a key role in enabling the vfx team to deliver high quality simulations and realistic effects renders. His facination for the art of natural phenomena made him an acomplished FX artist with works from renowned commercials such as Sunsilk, Kia, Changi Airport, Huawei Clear Clasico and many more.
Wayne began his career in film, and started off at Double Negative Singapore, where he worked on some award winning live action feature films such as, Interstellar, Fast and furious 6, Mockingly part 1 & Godzilla – just to name a few! Wayne has accumulated 7 years in creating flawless camera tracking, 3D layout and set extensions – and has an impressive set of skills from creating custom assets, object and body tracking, to texture and lighting.
Brandon comes with 15 years of comprehensive post production experience in both long and short form productions. His multifaceted experience has brought together award winning commendations ranging from documentaries, reality shows and commercials with brands such as Unilever, P&G, Discovery, AXN, BBC and many others. With his knowledge and skills, he is always looking forward to new challenges, and is as passionate with his work as he is with his sneaker collections.
